“Speak the speech, I pray you…”
WEEKEND INTENSIVE WORKSHOP: PLAYING SHAKESPEARE
Unrehearsed Shakespeare is a performance technique that replicates the conditions under which Shakespeare’s company worked. Just like the actors in Shakespeare’s company, students will receive cue scripts for the roles they work on in class. Cue scripts contain only an actor’s lines and cues. Students will learn how to excavate and theatricalize the acting clues in their cue scripts. Remember, unrehearsed is NOT unprepared. This class will teach you how to analyze a Shakespearean text for performance.
For anyone who has always been intrigued by Shakespeare, but too intimidated to perform in public, this class is for you.
Shakespeare was a brilliant writer. In his words is everything an actor needs to know to play any Shakespearean character effectively.
Dates: Saturday & Sunday. September 15 & 16. Noon-5pm
Cost: $125 per person
