Business of Acting Workshop

Acting is not solely a creative outlet, it is also a business.  For those wishing to pursue a career in acting, you must treat it as a business and manage yourself accordingly in order to be successful.

In this two hour intensive, students will learn the in’s and out’s of the entertainment industry and how to market themselves as actors.  Students will learn valuable information about the following and more….

  • The Unions (SAG/ AFTRA): how, why, and when you should join
  • Headshots: what makes a good headshot and how to choose the right photographer
  • Resumes
  • Postcards/ Mailings
  • Finding an agent
  • Showcases: are they worth your time? what can you expect?
  • Marketing yourself: actorsaccess, 800casting, social media, actor websites, and more…

The workshop will give an overview of industry practices and guidance with headshots, resumes, reels, representation, audition tapes, social media tips, audition technique, and a general overview of the industry.
